cost of the full dpf delete/tune from a reputable shop in the states(I’ve heard it’s cheaper). I would really appreciate some advice on approx. We are planning a 3 month road trip down the west coast to Mexico.
Our mechanic said it’s not ideal but isn’t doing real harm to the van. There is also a exaust leak from the egr? The past mechanic bent the pipe instead of using the proper block off plates. Bit of a hassle but not the end of the world. It drives pretty well but the previous owner said it would go into limp mode occasionally due to the dpf code, and would have to be cleared. The previous owner got the filter “boared out” the dpf but apparently did a poor job. We’ve got a mechanic who we trust in Calgary who quoted us about 3500$ to do the egr/dpf tune, egr delete and dpf delete. We just bought a van after a long year of searching! We’ve had it inspected and is in great shape apart from the dpf issues.
